Dolopoti (2001) (The Head of a Group) is a Bangladeshi romantic action drama film directed by Mohommod Hannan in 2001. The film is produced and distributed by Mass Media Ltd. Dolopoti is starred by Riaz, Raveena and Dipjol in the lead roles. Raveena is the main factor here. Director Mohommod Hannan has directed three films with Ravvena. Raveena is from Bombay (now Mumbai) , India. She casts Praner Cheya Priyo (1997), Sabdhan (2000) and Dolopoti (2001) directed by Mohommod Hannan. Story: A middle class family member, a young boy Shahid turns into a Revenger after his sister is raped and murdered with her boyfriend by a local gang. Casting and Crews: Riaz as Shahid Raveena as Kajal Dipjol as Tukkai Molla Shahin Alam as Dr. Shamim Moyuri as Maya Maruf as Helaluzzaman Shanu as Chhaya Dolly Johur as Rokeya A.T.M. Shamsuzzaman as Shahid’s father Siraj Haidar as Police Inspector Haidar Afzal Sharif as Jacky Alamgir as Suruj Bangali as Guest Artists: Khalil as Barrister Mohommod Hannan as Azharul Islam Khan as Jahanara Bhuiyan as Setu as Jani Raj as Tara Bhai as Shamsuddin Tagore as Crews: Built and Created in: Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) Pictured in: Fahim Studio Lab Super: Mohiuddin Color Analyst: Fayzul, Nirab Singers: Andrew Kishore, Monir Khan, Kanak Chapa, Rizia Parvin, Biplab, Bipasha Assistant Production Managers: Miraj, Billal, Barek, Harun, Khalek, Khokon… Assistant Dance Director: S. Music Receiver: Shruti Recording Studio Screenplay and Directed by: Mohommod Hannan Reviews: I have seen Praner Cheya Priyo (1997), Sabdhan (2000) and also watched Dolopoti (2001). But the story, dialogues, performance, cinematography and editing are same here. But there are several popular songs here also. They are the main attractive thing in the film. But without it the film has no emotional scene or dialogues are excessive and the overacting is also a characteristic of the film. Narrative is good. But the film has not anything important without the narrative and popular songs. But the performance of some characters is very attractive for example; A.T.M Shamsuzzan. Siraj Haidar has cast good. But though Riaz is the main character, his performance overall is normal. There are some overacting, excessive dialogues, not natural or there is no emotion. So the overall performance of him is normal. There are some indecent or vulgar scenes in the film acted by Raveena and Moyuri. Though Raveena’s performance is for the purpose a particular event, scene duration should not have made prolonging. But Moyuri’s performance is good for nothing. It has been use for attracting the audiences so that they can come to cinema hall to watch it. But the most attractive and hearable thing in the film is the songs of Andrew Kishore, Monir Khan, Kanak, Chapa and some others. Raveena’s performance has been increased with the help of Riaz’s performance. But she overall casts well sometimes natural and sometimes arterial. But A.T.M. Shamsuzzan’s performance is natural here. So, he is main contribution of the film characters. Dipjol’s dialogue and performance at first one cannot like. He will feel lacking of a villain. So, Dipjol is the perfect here for antagonist character. But his artificial performance, excessive and local dialogues are not standard for a film. Overall Mohommad Hannan has made a weak film. For, there are huge weaknesses in the film. Actually, I have said in another review that the 2000s is the most unsuccessful decay for the Bangladesh Film Industry. Here indecency and vulgarity have entered into Bengali films in this decay. So, in every year the film industry has counted its unsuccess.
