Swapnajaal (2018) is a Bangladeshi dramatic and romantic film, story and screenplay written and directed by Giasuddin Selim. The film is about the set of 1990s suburbs of Bangladesh and West Bengal against the background of communal riots. It is a love story between two young souls.The story of the film is very complex and dramatic. But truly it is a romantic tragic film. The two lovers have to move away but wish to reunite.    Plot Summary  Apu and Shuvra love each other very much. Apu is a son of a Muslim family.His father Rahaman Miah has a business of rice/paddy import export. Shuvra's father Hiran Shaha has an oil factory. Aynal Gazi is a local dominant person of the suburb Chandpur. He tactfully ousts Shuvra's family members after hiding Hiran Shaha. Shuvra's family is compelled to move to Kolkata. Shuvra's mother moves to Kolkata from Chandpur with her son Gopal and daughter Shuvra to her brother in law's house. Thereafter, Aynal Gazi kills Hiran Shaha with his activists and ousts Hiran Shaha's house and oil factory. Thandu, activist of Aynal Gazi marries Julekha and they start to live in Hiran's house. But Aynal Gazi keeps Hiran's oil factory to his right. Apu starts to go to Kolkata to see his lover Shuvra. But unfortunately, he goes to Agartala. He comes back home and can know that Aynal Gazi has killed Hiran Shaha from Julekha. Shuvra gets a job at the Minarva Theater by Biswambhar Babu. Biswambhar Babu is not all that a good person. So, Shuvra tries to avoid him. Aynal Gazi kills Thandu in suspicion that Thandu has killed Apu. But in the next time, he can know that Apu has come back from Agartala. Julekha moves to Faridpur. Apu goes to Kolkata informs Shuvra and her family members. Shuvra wants to come back to Chandpur with Apu for justice of the killer of her father. But her Uncle can know that Shuvra and Apu are so attractive to each others. So, he does not permit to to go with Apu. But Shuvra comes back Chandpur with Apu even leaving theater. They come to Julekha in Faridpur to take her witness for justice. The police catch Aynal Gazi. Shuvra's mother and brother come back to Chandpur. The two families do not accept the relationship of Apu and Shuvra. So, Apu's family compels him to go to Dhaka to take higher education.On the contrary, Shuvra's Family makes bound her to marry another person. She gets married. But Apu commits suicide jumping from the launch to the river. But Still now Shuvra wishes to reunite with Apu. Swapnajaal(2018) is also one of his best works. He starts shooting since 2016. The Film Swapnajaal (2018) is released on last April. Actually, he has written a strong story of the film so that the audiences are attractive to the film.    Direction  The film is started with a communal riot but ends with tragedy. But most of the times of the two's mid-time are used in romance. So it is a romantic film. But when the audiences feel tragedy sometimes, it turns into a tragic film. So, in a word, the film is romantic tragic film. Director Giasuddin Selim has tired his best in direction of all the sectors or departments such as screenplay, character selection, places selection according to the story, cinematography, sound and music, make up and costume, performance, art direction, props, color and lighting of the scenes according to the time and backdrop and editing. But there are some lacks in sound and music. I will describe about this, next.    Story and Screenplay  Director has made a strong screenplay from a creative story. It is a very simple love story. we can not find it in a such way in big city or town. The place is a suburb. It is like a village but there are some differences between them in factory, industries, business or structure. But the story is like a village love story and it is very simple. The story is very meaningful. So it will attract the viewers to watch it.    Character Selection and Performance  Character selection and direction or looking out in characters performance are very important achievement of the film. Director has selected some famous and skilled performers to characterize on the story. It is one of the best contribution of the film. Besides, the director has looked out in performances such as he has made the performances of Yash Rohan and Pori Moni something dramatic in some of the first scenes and it slowly turns into strong. So, the performances of them are different in different places and times. The director has looked out to its duration so that the audiences do not think it is slow motion film. So, he creates climaxes to make up the concern duration. He has tried some more fruitful scenes in a same time.    Places  Place is very important for showing the scenes according to the story. We can see generally four places in the film such as Chandpur, Agartala, Kolkata, Faridpur. So, in accordance with the story, the indefinite places will be shown in indefinite time. When the audiences will see the scenes, they extremely notice on the places and try to find out the name of the places. Because, for segmentation, place is very important. And the indefinite places have been shown in the indefinite scenes. So, the audiences will go with the story and they won't fell bore.    Art Direction, Props  Set design is very important in making creative film. We have seen some creative sets in the film that were not used in past such as Hiran's house. Keeping and selecting suitable props are also important work. The audiences will try to see the props in the next scenes also which they have seen in some former scenes. So, the director has to notice in this formula. The director has to keep and show the same props in the next scenes. We can see the same story in the film. We can see the same sets and props in next scenes also such as football, houses of Hiran Shaha etc.    Color and Lighting  We see the color of the film and it is like that the backdrop of the film is 1990s. Selection the color of the film is another important work. We also see the color of the dresses of Apu and Shuvra. In some scenes Apu has worn white color's shirt and Shuvra sometimes red, sometimes blue, sometimes white. Which color will match with the background scenes? This question is very important. And the director has to work following this rules. he has to adjust the color of the subject with the background scenes. We see a successful color matching in this film.          Make up and Costume  In film, make up and costume designing of the performers are very important work. This process is used to attract the audiences to the film mostly. So, These are necessary in films. We can see the correct matching of make up and costume of the performers such as on marriage day Shuvra's make up and dresses of the teenagers.    Cinematography  The cinematography of the film Swapnajaal (2018) is very fruitful. The cinematographer has taken the shots in a artistic way. The whole film has been made following some artistic ways. There are differences among the shots, frames and movement. The differences among the shots such as wide shots, long shots, mid shots, close shots and there are some extreme close shots to show the falling water from the eye.    Sound and Music  In the film Swapnajaal (2018) has some good contributions. But there is lack in songs and background music. Though it is a simple romantic film, there would be used some best songs. The songs will lose their appeal something I think. We see some scenes of the film without background music. In every moment we hear some sounds. It is natural. But if we can not hear background sound in all the scenes, it will lose its appeal something. It should not be kept the durations in blank.    Editing  Attachment and assembling of the scenes are looking good of the film. The process has made the film meaningful. Editing has made the story an audiovisual media. It has created an attractive work. But the editor should have been more concern at the time of assembling the shots and scenes with the sound. In some scenes, background sound should not have been blank.    In a word, Swapnajaal (2018) is a good film in Bangladesh for the year.  I hope that it it will be a successful film in Bangladesh in 2018. Though there are some lacks in some dept. but the whole dept. have tried their best to make it successful.

In some scenes Apu has worn white color's shirt and Shuvra sometimes red, sometimes blue, sometimes white. Which color will match with the background scenes? This question is very important. And the director has to work following this rules. he has to adjust the color of the subject with the background scenes. We see a successful color matching in this film.
      
Make up and Costume
In film, make up and costume designing of the performers are very important work. This process is used to attract the audiences to the film mostly. So, These are necessary in films. We can see the correct matching of make up and costume of the performers such as on marriage day Shuvra's make up and dresses of the teenagers.

Cinematography
The cinematography of the film Swapnajaal (2018) is very fruitful. The cinematographer has taken the shots in a artistic way. The whole film has been made following some artistic ways. There are differences among the shots, frames and movement. The differences among the shots such as wide shots, long shots, mid shots, close shots and there are some extreme close shots to show the falling water from the eye.

Sound and Music
In the film Swapnajaal (2018) has some good contributions. But there is lack in songs and background music. Though it is a simple romantic film, there would be used some best songs. The songs will lose their appeal something I think. We see some scenes of the film without background music. In every moment we hear some sounds. It is natural. But if we can not hear background sound in all the scenes, it will lose its appeal something. It should not be kept the durations in blank.

Editing
Attachment and assembling of the scenes are looking good of the film. The process has made the film meaningful. Editing has made the story an audiovisual media. It has created an attractive work. But the editor should have been more concern at the time of assembling the shots and scenes with the sound. In some scenes, background sound should not have been blank.

In a word, Swapnajaal (2018) is a good film in Bangladesh for the year.  I hope that it it will be a successful film in Bangladesh in 2018. Though there are some lacks in some dept. but the whole dept. have tried their best to make it successful.
